How will we store energy in the future and what challenges will we come up against? “What is special about the STYRIAN ACADEMY is that it approaches this forward-looking topic from a variety of perspectives“, explains initiator Brigitte Hasewend, who heads the staff unit International Sustainability Partnerships at Graz University of Technology. The programme is embedded in the European Sustainable Energy Innovation Alliance (eseia) initiative – the Europe-wide network for sustainable energy innovation resident at Graz University of Technology. The STYRIAN ACADEMY addresses students, experts with practical experience and the broad public alike.
Comprehensive range
Students from Styrian and international universities gather together at the International Summer School and are given a comprehensive picture of technological, economic and social developments. There are grants waiting for the most deserving applicants which also include board and lodging. The target group of the International Business Training Seminars are key actors in business and regional decision makers. Through this, it is hoped that international knowledge of conception and implementation of sustainable energy systems is transferred to the regional and local level. The Garden Talk, which once again this year offers an informal framework for discussions, is open to anyone who is interested.
Two for the price of one
To enable as many people as possible to participate, there is a special offer this year: if two persons register for the summer school or the business programme, each person only pays half price. Graz University of Technology started the STYRIAN ACADEMY in June 2010 – an international educational and training platform for top-level master’s and PhD students as well as representatives of business, politics and administration. Participants from all over the world are guided in the topic of sustainable energy resources in the framework of business seminars, summer and winter schools, garden talks and “fireside chats” as well as public discussions. The STYRIAN ACADEMY is organised in cooperation with international strategic partners and the State of Styria.
